The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce has a new man at the top.
Brock Harrington was appointed president at the Chamber's 2017 organization meeting earlier this month.
"I've been on the Chamber for a few years and we have a fair number of newer members and others that weren't quite ready to step up, so they picked me," he told 99.5 Drum FM.
Harrington was previously vice-president behind Shelley Rymal, who stepped down from the Chamber board when her term as a director expired. He wants to set up a formal repair and renovation program for the World's Largest Dinosaur.
"It didn't come with an owner's manual and it didn't really come with a 30 year plan of what needs to be done," he explained. "That's probably one of the biggest priorities for the next year is continuing the long term structural integrity of the World's Largest Dinosaur."
Harrington is also general manager of Big Country Community Futures, but he doesn't think that will get in the way of his Chamber work.
"There's a hit list that I've actually had produced of people that I'm going to be calling on to see if we can't convince them to get more involved in the community and the Chamber," he outlined. "Fees are not that much and if you really want to be involved with policy or operation of the Dinosaur or just liaising with other business owners, the Chamber's the place to do it."
