The new Munson Fire Hall is ready to serve.

On Saturday, September 8, 2018, the Munson Fire Hall held its grand opening. The new hall includes a three-bay garage, workout room, new office space, a beautiful kitchen and a common room for the firefighters of the hall to call their second home.

"It feels great. It's a great facility," explained Deputy Fire Chief, Dan Lawrence. "It's going to serve the town and county for many years to come."

The grand opening saw the firefighters cooking up BBQ for those who came to help celebrate, tours of the new facility and recognized firefighters who have been putting years into their volunteer service as first-responders.

"I get more out of it than I put into it, I find," he said. "I think you'll find that with any of the firefighters. It's just, you just want to help and do what you can for people."

Lawrence commented that the grounds took some time to get together and presentable for the grand opening but now that the hall is in tip-top shape, the firefighters can now fully focus on their call to action.

"Everyone is very excited. It's nice to see everyone taking part and helping clean up and getting everything back in shape. It's really great," Lawrence concluded.
