Albertans had best send a strong message to Ottawa the next time they get to go to the polls.
That warning comes from Battle River-Crowfoot MP Kevin Sorenson, who is angry watching Alberta continue to struggle economically because of the policies of the federal and provincial governments.
"We see the world economy growing and the United States economy growing and Alberta, we're being held back. That's the disappointment I have," he told 99.5 Drum FM.
"I think it's important constituents know I'm frustrated with a lack of real awareness of what Alberta is facing out there," he added. "Our economy is still hurting."
Sorenson points to the repeated delays of pipeline projects to get Alberta oil to more markets, including the Kinder Morgan Trans-Mountain Pipeline, which is currently being held up by the British Columbia Government over environmental concerns. He believes the prime minister should be putting pressure on BC so that Canada can gain a share of the growing Asian market.
In the meantime, Sorenson says the federal Conservatives are looking forward to the next election in October, 2019.
"We always need to be ready for that and we are working hard; that's the way we get ready, we simply work hard and let the constituents know we're working hard on their behalf."
