One person was taken to hospital in Drumheller last night (July 5) after an accident on the South Hill headed out of the valley to Calgary.
RCMP, Fire and EMS all responded just after 9:30 p.m. to a motorcycle crash in the southbound lanes.
"The driver was going up the hill and lost control on the S-curve and ended up laying down the bike," reported Staff Sergeant Kevin Chalres of the Drumheller Detachment. "(There was) minor damage to the bike and the driver sustained some medium injuries and was transported to hospital."
"It could have been a whole lot worse," stated Charles. "There were no fatalities and no other vehicles were involved. Alcohol was not a factor."
He added RCMP are still investigating.
"I don't know if it was the speed, or perhaps it was driver inexperience, we haven't determined that yet," he told Drum FM.
