K-12 St. Anthony's and Morrin Schools held their Remembrance Day ceremonies on Friday, November 9th in lieu of Remembrance Day this Sunday.
The Drumheller Seacadets were present at St.Anthony's school and Student Grace Brost was excited to represent them.
"It is a time to remember everybody. And it is not something that we need to joke about. It is nice that the cadets get to go to the D-Day trip," she explained, as the Cadets are fundraising to go to Normany in the next year to pay tribute.
Morrin school also held their ceremony recounting, tales, stories, and lives of those who laid their lives on the line for Canada.
Emcee's Ashley McNaughton and Mackenzee Olsen were both honored to speak at the ceremony.
"I was actually quite honored because it is such a big procession and it is a great ceremony for kids and adults, for how our country came to be and our peace and freedoms. It's great," explained Olsen.
"I liked the processions, and the people that came had some pretty good speeches and were very informative about everything. Some of my family has been to the war, as one of my great-grandparents, so it is quite close to me. I find it a very interesting subject to learn about," told McNaughton.
