A local family continues to search for a kidney for one of their family members and another local business has offered to step up and help. Hi-way 9 Express, which has multiple locations throughout the province and is based in Drumheller, has offered to put fifty decals on the back of their trailers to help in the search.
James Vogel has been overwhelmed by community support.
"This is beyond my dreams. This is incredible on how much the community has pulled together. Hi-way 9 (Express), Image Crafter (Signs), the whole community has just pulled together and made this bigger and bigger and now that these decals are being placed on these trailers, province-wide, I'm over excited. This is awesome."
Hi-way 9 Express has been proud to call Drumheller home for the past 50 years and it only makes sense to them to help.
"Without the support of everybody in Drumheller and of course province-wide now that we're bigger than we used to be. Community is what makes things go around. It makes us happy to do what we can and to put a decal on a trailer if that works, perfect," exclaimed Shannon Wade from Hi-way 9 Express.
The exciting part of this for the Vogel family is that the decals are not just going to be in Drumheller, they will be province-wide. Hi-way 9 has routes that go throughout the province from Grande Prairie south to Lethbridge. Some of the trailers may travel to BC or Saskatchewan as well.
The family does not know the number of people that have been accepted as donors as the information is private. They are eternally grateful to Image Crafter Signs for creating the decals as well as all of the other organizations in our community that have offered to help. They are hopeful that a donor can be found sooner rather than later.
