It's a tale that will have animal lovers around the valley crying with sadness and joy.

Four fluffy white kittens were saved from certain death after they had been dumped in a bin behind Yavis Family Restaurant.

"I had gotten to work and one of the girls ran into my office saying that they just found kitties in our dumpster out back," recalled Amy Yavis. "The GFL driver was going to pick up the dumpster itself, got a phone call, turned off his truck and could hear the cats meowing."

"(We) looked in the dumpster and there was four little pure white kittens, like so beautiful," she continued. "He got them out and we ended up taking them to the Humane Society."

Yavis admits she was shocked the someone could be so callous as to dump the kittens where they had little or no chance of survival.

"There's so many options if you cannot take care of those animals: SPCA, Humane Society, put them on Facebook, try to get rid of them. There's so many options, but to go to a business and try and basically kill these cats, that's not acceptable."

One bright side to the story is that Yavis Restaurant has s ecurity cameras in the back and the video from Tuesday morning has been turned over to the RCMP.
