Who doesn't like donuts? Not Jolene Powell.

The Drumheller business owner went before town council on Tuesday, April 18 to plead her case for a new location this summer for her mini donuts stand.

Powell's Dino Donuts trailer used to set up on the grass at Rotary Park next to the Aquaplex, but renovations to the indoor pool this summer forced a move away from the construction site.

She requested the south east corner of the park, right next to Riverside Drive and the entrance to the parking lot in front of the World's Largest Dinosaur.

"Actually, this is my first choice location," she confessed. "It's easy to get in, it's easy to get out and I'm really looking forward to being down there this year."

Her other choices were the two concrete pads in the middle of the park, but she argued those are not convenient for her trailer.

"The support of council has been absolutely amazing, to make the changes needed to make this a viable business in our community," expressed Powell. "I'm really, really thankful to everybody on council for putting this through for us."

So, what's hot in the mini donuts world this summer?

"The gourmet with the ice cream, and we'll have a few different flavours of ice cream this year," she outlined. "If you're a bubblegum guy and want some kids' bubblegum on your mini donuts, we'll be able to hook you up."
