The Downtown Summer Plaza is in the middle of its final weekend this weekend and Mayor Heather Colberg likes what she saw so far.

"I think it's been an incredible success. When you start out with a test project and you don't know where it is going to go, and you see all the locals, visitors and all the people who go down and enjoy the moment," praised Colberg.

The nightly activities every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday have included everything from live music, ghost walk tours to car shows.

"To be blessed with so many talented musicians who volunteered their time and equipment. It was an incredible success," continued Colberg.

As for the future of the plaza next year, Colberg and council members will be meeting in Septembers to hear from citizens and merchants about how they can improve the plaza.

"You know, I think we are going to make it bigger and better and make sure we really listen to the people involved so that we can take notes, and make it more powerful, more exciting, more everything," concluded Colberg.
