There are some new faces gracing the halls at Town Hall. One of them is the new Manager of Economic Development, Sean Wallace, originally from New Brunswick.
Wallace just started at The Town of Drumheller and is determined to bring more business and prosperity to the valley.
"I was here last year and fell in love with the community. That is why I decided to come here, and actually finish off my career here," explained Wallace.
Wallace, along with his wife, have settled in the valley and are in awe of Drumheller's unique landscape. Aside from that, Wallace also noticed great promise in the valley.
"My position is Investment Attraction and that can cover a whole gambit of components such as tourism, foreign direct investment, film and tv, and attracting events. All those types of events," he continued.
While all of that may seem glamorous, Wallace's main goal is to bring more business and prosperity to the valley. He already has some ideas to help do that.
"My background is foreign direct investment, and that's attracting industries from advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defence, information technologies, financial services. What I am going to do is look at our main strengths, we know one is tourism, but we may have some other strengths that we can use to our advantage, so I will be making some analysis," concluded Wallace.
Wallace plans on meeting with more businesses in the valley creating an open door relationship. He is looking to hear concerns from those in the valley who may have concerns or ideas to help Drumheller's Economic Development.
