If you've visited the Badlands Community Facility over the past number of years, you've likely met Lucy Dietzer, a supervisor at the facility.lucyLucy Dietzer with BCF Manager Darren Goldthorpe.

On Jan. 11, at the end of a staff meeting, Dietzer was presented with the facility's Employee of the Year Award for 2017.

"I feel truly honoured, blessed to work with the wonderful people I work with and work in the wonderful community I live in," she said afterwards.

This is the fourth year that the BCF has given this award. Dietzer explained that she didn't do anything special to deserve the award, she was just her usual, friendly self.

"The community makes it easy for me," she said. "They're just as friendly to me [as I am to them], and I want to provide them with the best experience that they can have at the BCF."

Dietzer is looking forward to continuing her good work in 2018.

"I just want to say thank you to all my co-workers and my manager. I'm truly humbled and honoured."
