The Drumheller Public Library has had some amazing art on display this week and it's all thanks to our local seniors.
"A couple years ago we were so lucky to host the Grey Matters Conference here in Drumheller and as a part of that, I put together a seniors art exhibit just to show off some of our local talent. We did it in the library for the week during the Grey Matters Conference and it was so successful that since then, I have been putting together an art exhibit for seniors," stated Seniors Coordinator for the Town of Drumheller, Rose Poulson.
The local artists came together to show off their skills that they have learned over the past two years for the public to enjoy.
"I did put it together for seniors week, which was last week and we have so many talented seniors in our community. (It is) just wonderful art, you have got to come and check it out at the library," expressed Poulson.
Poulson recruited an instructor to help teach some techniques so that the seniors could tap into their inner talent to showcase in our valley.
"Cindy Clark has been teaching this art class for over two years. Strictly (as a) volunteer she has taught these ladies so much, all of these seniors have just become wonderful artists," Rose outlined.
"(There is) about six to eight ladies that come every month and Cindy (Clark) does just such a great job. She comes up with a new project every month that the ladies typically finish within about two hours and its just so great to see. It's a wonderful visit, they have so much fun and they go home with some great projects that they're able to do."
The art exhibit will be featured at the Drumheller Public Library for the entire month of June.
