Did you ever love a car so much that you would buy it back if given the chance? How about a second time? Local car dealer Doug Lubinski knows how you feel.
The General Manager of Western GM in Drumheller is the proud third time owner of a 1966 Chevrolet Impala.
"Usually when a guy gets rid of a car, especially an old muscle car, a car that you really enjoyed driving, you always feel bad after you sold it, and to get the car back is a rarity," he told 99.5 Drum FM.
"I bought it in about 2002 (but) I only kept it one year; a friend of mine ended up getting ahold of it in Winnipeg and I bought it back from him, " Lubinski related. "I kept it for one more year, sold the car to a gentleman in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, he called me back a couple of weeks ago (and) I ended up buying it back from him again."
If that's not coincidence enough, Lubinski said an acquaintance has been going through the same thing.
"In 2013 I met a fellow at the Radium (BC) car show; he had a neat little truck (and) shortly after the show we both sold our vehicles," he recounted. "We've been kicking ourselves for selling those vehicles (but) on August 15 he bought his little truck back and about August 21 I bought my Impala back."
Lubinski won't be the owner for long, though, as he's selling the car to his father in law, Heller Pylypiw. If he tires of it, then Lubisnki figures he'll probably buy it back again, for the fourth time.
