Two local musicians are taking their talents to the city where they will be auditioning for the 2017 Calgary Stampede Talent Search.

"We have an audition for May 5 or 6. We are planning on doing a big production, we want to do all different kinds of percussion instruments for the song. We're going to do the song 'Somebody That I Used To Know' and they're is a whole bunch of cool sounds in there, so we're going to try our best to do an awesome version and make it sound good," stated singer Abby Fooks.

Fooks and Lal only started playing together around a month ago, but they're already in the swing of things.

"We had the idea to jam together because Ashton told me he can play the ukulele and I thought it would be cool to jam together. I like the way we sound together, we mesh really well and we like the same type of music. I like performing with Ashton," Fooks expressed.

"We've always talked about performing together, but I've played drums for a long time and just started playing the ukulele a few months ago. We found out that I can play a few different percussion instruments with the ukulele. We play really well together and it's just a different kind of music," Ashton Lal explained.

Good luck Abby and Ashton!
