A significant donation was made to the Salvation Army in Drumheller today. The amount was not disclosed, but the Salvation Army was very gracious and honoured in the acceptance of this generous, personal donation from our MLA, Rick Strankman.

"As I look back on my years as an MLA, I consider myself truly blessed to have met so many spectacular people from across the province," he continued. "It pains me to see the broken state our province is in and would like to offer a word of encouragement to Albertans and assure them that the path that lies ahead is not an easy one, but one that we all must travel together."

The year 2018 has been quite difficult. A year of struggle, especially in the oil and gas industry.

"We as elected people can exhibit principle in going forward and returning some of our pay cheques to people in need. We can't reduce this funding through the legislative pay scale that we have but, can direct it personally beyond that," continued Strankman.

Some people of Drumheller that are in economic throes, will greatly benefit from this from this heartfelt donation from our MLA and his family.

"I would like to take a moment to personally wish each and every one of you a safe and Happy Holiday. It's a special time of year for all of us, not only because we get to spend quality time with our family and friends, but also because it allows us time to reflect on the year that has passed."
