A video shot by a Drumheller resident last Friday, June 2 is the number two trending video on Youtube this week.

Vance Neudorf's time lapse video of a tornado near Three Hills had more than 54,000 shares as of Monday morning.

"There's storm chasers from the (United) States that are just green with envy because they (said) I've been chasing storms all my life and I've never got a video like that," he told 99.5 Drum FM.

Neudorf had been travelling to Three Hills to visit family when the tornado touched down.

"When I pulled out my phone I realized I was down to nine per cent battery, so the only way to shoot that thing was with time lapse. I didn't even know what I had because (when) I got home, I plugged my phone in to charge and when it was charged enough I looked at it and thought 'wow, that came out real nice'," he recalled.

"The one guy from the States said there's nothing else like this on the net that is so clear showing a tornado. A lot of them are jerky, fuzzy and you don't get a good glimpse of it."
