With the new year fast approaching, people are going to need to get new calendars to help them plan their lives. A new local effort shows off the valley's top rides and raises money for a good cause.

CF Calendar 2"I was looking at a car calendar one day and I said that would be cool to see one from Drumheller because Drumheller has some cool landmarks and the scenery here is pretty awesome, so I figured I'd give it a shot," explained Stephen Bobra, who is behind the idea.

"I put it out on Facebook: I said send me a private message with a picture of your car," he elaborated. "I had about 100 to sort through and I just chose 12 ones that were car show ready and I went with it."

Bobra, whose two young children were born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), chose Cystic Fibrosis Canada to receive all money raised from calendar sales.

"I figure if it's a success and we raise a lot of money for Cystic Fibrosis, I'll do another one next year and keep going with it," he concluded. "I definitely have a lot of cars to choose from."

Bobra wants to thank local photographer Athena Winchester of Broken Curfew Photography for taking the calendar photos.

His calendars are on sale for $20 each at a number of places around Drumheller, including Rod's Automotive in the industrial park, Sunrise Auto and Westergard Motors.
