A singer and recording artist from Drumheller continues to make her mark on the Alberta music scene.
Jenn Beaupre, who now lives in Calgary, has just released a new singled called 'Giants.'
"I post (online) videos fairly frequently and I noticed that somebody who had liked my song was a name producer, and it turned out to be Sal Oliveri," she recalled. "I called him up and said hey, can I record with you? He shipped me over some songs and I chose a couple; one of them was Giants."
Oliveri has worked with artists such as Pink, while the lead writer of Giants is Hillary Lindsay, who has written songs for Carrie Underwood and Lady Gaga.
"When I read the lyrics it connected with me instantly," related Beaupre. "I wanted to bring it to life the way the writers envisioned it, but I also wanted to give it my own spin. The lyrics are just everything; that alone was such an inspiration to bring that to life for people."
Giants is the first of perhaps many new Jenn Beaupre songs we'll be hearing over the next year or so.
"I think I'm going to keep approaching it as a singles platform for now; every few months you'll see, hopefully, a new tune," she outlined. "There's another one I have coming from my Nashville session and then I have some other ones I'm working on. Bad Girl is a little bit tongue in cheek, but I have another one coming called Higher and it's super uplifting too."
