Just after highway 837 reopened following a landslide west of Drumheller, some crime took place at the nearby Lions Youth Camp.

RCMP are currently investigating a break-in that occurred overnight on June 4th and in the morning of June 5th. The criminals also stole an undisclosed number of items.

"They continue to victimize the community and that is why it is so frustrating to us. We can never say what the motive is behind these people but I think a lot of it is economics or addiction fueled," said Staff Sergeant Kevin Charles of the Drumheller RCMP.

Charles says the RCMP only want to see the best for their community.

"Enforcement, and getting them in front of the courts is one thing, but we want them to make better choices in their life and stop their criminal behavior. But you can only do so much," he added..

Anyone who has information on the break-in is asked contact the Drumheller RCMP at 403-823-7590 or Crimesrtoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
