Drumheller area kids got to meet their favourite Drumheller Dragons on Wednesday evening at the Badlands Community Facility.

Chinook Financial hosted their Junior Dragons Club Halloween party, and kids were invited to attend, to eat candy and to carve a pumpkin under the watchful eye of Drumheller's junior A hockey team.

Taylor Jensen of Chinook Financial is one of the organizers of the Halloween party.

"[It's] something fun to do outside regular work and it's fun planning for the kids."

"We have the Junior Dragons Club and every year we do a Halloween party, a Valentine's day party [and] a Christmas party," explained Jensen.

The pumpkins were donated by Chinook.

"Chinook bought [the pumpkins]. The kids can take them home and light them up and have them on Halloween."

The carving patterns were also provided for the kids. One of the biggest problems at the party seemed to be that the kids were too excited to concentrate, as demonstrated by the number of Dragons sitting alone waiting for their Jr. Dragon to return.

Although the popular event began at 6:00 p.m., children and Dragons were already busy scooping, planning and cutting by that time.
