It's less than nine months until Christmas and the Town of Drumheller and the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to see that we celebrate it in style.

"We wanted to get a head start on this because we do want to plan a really great annual event, building on sort of what we started last year (with) the Light Up Night," explained Marley Henneigh of the Chamber. "We had the Drumheller Dragons and the choirs and everything in front of Drumheller Town Hall; we're wanting to take that and build a really big, great, Christmas event."

They are actively seeking volunteers to brain storm and come up with ideas, along with people to help bring them to fruition.

"We need those people who are very gung ho and want to be involved all along the way, but we also want people who maybe can't come to all the committee meetings, but they've got some information to offer or they want to get involved in some portion of the event at some point," outlined Henneigh.

"Our first meeting is this Friday, April 7 at noon here in the Chamber boardroom," she added. "That's sort of a brain storming session, so from there on we'll set up a regular meeting time and go from there."

If you would like to get in on the ground floor call Marley Henneigh at the Chamber of Commerce at 403-823-8100 or April Harrison of FCSS at 403-823-1315.
