A new dinosaur has been welcomed to Drumheller's collection.

There was a celebration held to unveil Hensley the 'Ironosaurus Wrecks' on July 8.

"We're doing a couple giveaways in dedication to the dinosaur," said Austin Knibb, who was involved in the construction of the project. "We have a couple fun facts, you can see how it was built, you can try to lift some of the pieces, we have cake and a T-Shirt giveaway."

"We just felt like we should give something back to the community, we like this prestigious location, and we feel a connection here," added Knibb.

Many were in attendance to admire and take photos with the new dinosaur model.

"It was built in our fabricating shop, Knibb Developments, myself and our welder fabricated it off of a scale model that we also have here today," he explained. "We used mainly old machinery parts to construct it."

The 'Ironosaurus Wrecks' has been placed outside the front entrance of the Badlands Community Facility.
