Traffic is detoured around much of the neighborhood while crews work to replace old cast iron water mains with new plastic lines.
"It's one block that they're doing water main and it's not a very long project," assured Town CAO Darryl Drohomerski. "Probably it will be done by the end of the week, especially with the weather like this."
"They all had temporary water supplies hooked up on the weekend, or just before the weekend, so they just won't have access to their back lane for a few days, but it should all be completed before the end of this week," he continued.
The biggest remaining infrastructure project in the valley is the replacement of a massive culvert under Highway 575 in the Hy-Grade Industrial Park, but Drohomerski thinks that one will be finished before long.
"I would expect that unless something serious happens, that probably within the next couple of weeks they should be all wrapped up with that," he told Drum FM. "Part of that is weather dependent: they have to make sure that creek is dry so they can work properly and that pipe segments continue to arrive on time."
In the meantime, east-west traffic through the area is being re-routed through the industrial park.
