A lot of young boys want to be a fireman when they grow up and some ol them could get to live the dream starting this spring.

"We're looking to recruit some new members for the Rosedale (Fire) Hall so we thought it would be a good opportunity to have an open house and let everybody see what we have for equipment, information to be a firefighter, how much commitment and time it takes and see if there's anybody that has any interest," outlined Drumheller Fire Chief Bruce Wade.

"Our Drumheller (Fire) Hall has been pretty fortunate and had not too much problem recruiting, but East Coulee and Rosedale, we are looking for members out there, so if anybody is interested we're certainly interested in having a talk with them."

So, what are the qualifications for a firefighter?

"Physically fit, being committed to responding 24 hours a day, seven days a week when you are around," Wade responded. "We do offer some training in hall for new recruits and our firefighters and then we do offer courses throughout the year."

The Rosedale Fire Hall open house is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be free hamburgers, hotdogs and pop.
