A slight change to start the new year for the Drumheller and District Humane Society.

Last Thursday's Annual General Meeting saw President Kelcy Travis take a step back in favour of former Vice-President Megan Shearer.

"We got some new board directors, which is always awesome; it's good to have new, fresh perspectives," noted Travis. "We did some switching of the executive positions. I feel good with the people that were there; we're some reasonable, passionate, committed people."

Travis stays on as Vice-President. Treasurer Heather Gallagher and Secretary Lisa Jacques retain their positions. The other board directors are Steve Brandt, Nicky Faye, Scott Oulette and Donna Tessier.

"We have many things coming up in the next few months," promised Travis. "We have adoption events, the second annual Dog Jog that we'll be having this summer. We'll also have open houses, barbeques and different things in the coming months."

"We like to let people know as well that we do drive home services for weddings, we clean up at catering events, we've cleaned up at Tough Mudder. Anything that you may need volunteers for, for a donation, please contact us (and) we will try to do it."
