This past Saturday, December 8, furry and not so furry friends were welcome to Drumheller Chrysler to take pictures with Santa for a good cause.
The day saw dogs and even turtles visit Santa at the auto dealership with proceeds going to the Drumheller and District Humane Society.
"We probably had about 40-50 dogs and had more then 30 people show up," explained President of the Humane Society, Megan Shearer. "It was really busy and stay very steady. We even had people just show up and donate so it was really good."
The fundraiser gained some real steam as a total amount of $1, 565 can now go towards the Humane Society's need to pay vet bills and purchase food for the animals they house. The Humane Society has been doing the pet pictures with Santa for five years.
"Well, there was this couple that brought in their five Pomeranians so that was really cute. Someone also brought in a turtle," chuckled Shearer. "That was different but it was just really neat to see all different kinds of animals coming out."
The society received two big donations, one of them being $500. They also have a raffle that is going on until December 18 that the public can get involved in.
"Big or small, we had Chihuahuas come out and a St. Bernard. It was just great to see all the different dog breeds."
Shearer wants to thank the public and their furry friends for coming out and supporting the Humane Society as well as Donna Tessier for providing a venue for this years photoshoot.
