Hope College in Drumheller will be offering a new course in 2017.

"We are now taking on massage therapy students which is definitely new and we have lots of people interested in the practicum part of it," explained Michelle Sharrun of Hope College.

The local post secondary institution is also offering diplomas in business, justice corrections, herbal health, nutrition, and exercise and wellness. Sharrun says they're even offering a course that reflects an important part of Drumheller's economy.

"Tourism, which is popular in Drumheller."

She adds there are scholarship opportunities available through Hope College. These include faith based scholarships of up to $1000, financial need scholarships of up to $500, academic performance up to $1500 and business contribution scholarships of up to $1000.

The college will be hosting an open house in early 2017 where potential students can see the facility and ask questions. The first open house will be February 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 245-3rd Street West. Two more open houses will follow on March 8 and April 5.

Courses will start January 8 at Hope College.

"We try to take in as many students even a couple weeks after," concluded Sharrun.
