Mothers and fathers this graduation are very proud of their children for finally growing up and finishing high school.
This speaks the same volumes to home-stay parents like Dalin Jensen who's been keeping two DVSS students from Mexico in his home as they studied to graduate.
"It's been exciting. We've had Joseph for the last two years and we're honored to have him in our home. He's been great," explained Jensen. "It's great o share in this joyous occasion."
The graduating class of 2018 at Drumheller Valley Secondary School held their grad ceremony at the Badlands Community Facility.
"Getting the taste of another culture. Our kids have been really happy to be with them," said Jensen as he talked about what his favorite part of being a home-stay parent is. "They've been so good to our family."
Jensen is proud of the grad students under his wing and knows that although their time is coming to an end, he has high hopes of a future reunion.
"We've built some longer term connects," he concludes. "We're excited to see them in the future and excited that hopefully, they come see us in the future as well."
