Drum FM has been partnering with businesses in the Drumheller area to make Hockey Day in Drumheller a big success for the past 3 years.

"First of all it is a great honour to be able to host such a fun event for our community. Winters can be a bit long and the week after family long weekend kids are off school and need something to do, so I thought why not host Drumheller's own Hockey Day," says Dennis Harder, Manager of Drum FM and DrumhellerOnline.com.funteam1Kids from the Drumheller Fun Team and DrumFM's Kayla Clark

In creating something for kids to do on their week off, it also creates the opportunity to raise money for a not for profit organization here in the valley. Drum FM has taken the opportunity to partner with the Drumheller Fun Team. Harder says that Fun Team Hockey offers and amazing opportunity to kids in the valley, and they do an amazing job.

"It was a great honour to have them part of it again this year, and during this year's barbeque fundraiser, we raised $500, that is going to them," explains Harder.

Each year the event gets bigger an better  There was so much more to offer this year from previous years. There was a games room, Dragons autograph table, street hockey, RCMP, EMS, Fire truck, kids skill development sessions with the Dragons Coaches, and even a skills competition!

"I would like to thank the Drumheller Dragons, and all business's that partnered with us to make the Drum FM Hockey Day another successful event. We are planning to make this an annual even that will always go on," says Harder.

Harder also said that plans for next years event are already underway, and it will be even bigger and better than this year. Next year's Hockey Day in Drumheller will take place on February 21, 2019.
