A highway crash south of Hanna on Wednesday claimed the lives of three children.
Hanna RCMP were called to the intersection of Highways 36 and 570 south of the Sheerness power plant just before 6:00 p.m.
A westbound SUV was hit by a southbound semi-trailer as it entered the intersection.
A 16 year old girl, an 11 year old boy and a young female infant were declared dead at the scene.
The driver and adult passenger of the SUV were taken to hospital in Calgary, one of them by STARS, the other by ground ambulance. Their conditions are not known. The semi driver was taken to a local hospital.
Further information, including names, will hopefully be made available later today.
