On January 17 Hanna RCMP were advised of a truck that fled from Brooks RCMP members and was last seen near Pollockville.

Shortly thereafter, Hhanna RCMP began receiving complaints of the same vehicle attempting to steal fuel at rural locations. The last location was near Scapa, where the suspects had stolen a second truck out of a garage.

Residents tracked the stolen vehicles to a rural location where one truck was attempting to pull the other out of the snow. Before police arrived two shots were fired into the air by a resident in an attempt ot stop an altercation with the suspects. No one was injured.

Police arrived on scene shortly after, at which time two makes and one female were arrested. Both trucks were located at the scene, as well as several property items that are believed to be stolen.
