It started out as a fun challenge, but then became a fantastic fundraiser for a local cause.

Local Jamie Worman created a post on Facebook on Canada's 150th birthday seeing if Drumhellions could come up with 150 different reasons why Canada is the greatest country in the world.

"We lost count after about 172, there were quite a few and quite a few interesting ones too," stated Worman.

Worman noted that if he could get 150 different reasons, then he would donate $150 to the Salvation Army. The challenge was then taken on by a few others in our community.

"A few people actually stepped and offered to match the $150 I donated. It was nice to see that, it's something for fun," expressed Worman.

"There was $600 raised. I know Eric Dahl matched the $150, Donna and Armand Tessier from Drum Chrysler matched the $150 and Shane and Kelly Raugust matched the $150. It came together well, more than I expected."

So, why did you chose the Salvation Army to donate money to?

"Salvation Army at this time of the year, I think, is kind of neglected in terms of the donations that they get because people are always on vacation or they are hanging out on their decks and they forget that people still need a hand this time of year," concluded Worman.
