On April 12 the community of Drumheller banded together to show their support for Humboldt. Everybody from the students at the schools, to the banks in town, and even us here at Drum FM.

"It means a lot, it is good for the communities to be supporting the Humboldt Broncos like this," said Spencer James, Grade 11 Student at DVSS.

Currently the Humboldt Broncos GoFundMe page is close to $11 million, raised by over 120,000 people in 6 days.DrumFM3Drum FM supporting Jersey Day. (L-R: Kayla Clark, Tony Stone, Jason Blanke, Nicky Faye)

"I mean honestly it is quite amazing, it was great to have the community all come together like that. Most likely the cities would do the same thing, but with such a small town, it is great to have the support like that. Even though it wasn't a tragedy that totally hits home (for me), but it hits home no matter what because we are a hockey town," explained Kayla from For Sight Vision Center.

There are some people in our community who are a little bit closer to the tragedy than others.

"For our family it meant a lot becuase over the years both of my sons have worked with the Dragons. For many years they have rode the bus with the team, they have been part of the team and to see what happened in Humboldt is devestating because it hit very close to home. It could be anybody, not just with hockey," said Kari-Ann Faubion from Cervus Equipment.
