There was some scary weather up in the skies yesterday near Hanna.

A funnel cloud was spotted forming just southwest of the town.

The cloud did not cause any concern with Hanna residents.

"We just got hit with a rainstorm, but we didn't see any funnel clouds. We had heard that the cloud was in the Handhills and going back up," said Angela McGillian with the Town of Hanna.

According to basic information found on Environment Canada's website, funnel clouds can lead to a tornado, but usually are too weak to touch down.

Environment Canada urges that if you see a tornado warning alert to take caution and find shelter.
