Spring is just a few days old and we already have fire restrictions in east central Alberta.
The Special Areas Board has issued a fire advisory for Special Areas 2, 3 and 4 effective immediately.
Existing Controlled Burn Notifications remain valid, but new Controlled Burn Notifications will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Safe campfires are allowed in campgrounds.
To request a controlled burn, contact your local district office during business hours.
Towns or Villages or provincial parks within the Special Areas handle their own restrictions and should be contacted directly.
