The Special Areas Board has lifted its fire ban in the Hanna area..
The dried out grass in Special Areas 2, 3 and 4 has seen enough precipitation recently that the Special Areas Board has lifted the fire ban.
The fire ban was on any type of burn, but with the lifting burning can once again commence. For any controlled burn a notification to your local fire department is required.
Exceptions to this rule include campfires and incinerator fires.
The No Fire Advisory will remain in effect until Special Areas deems it dry enough to implement a No Burn Advisory.
With the ban lifted, farmers can now burn brush that has been sitting around since last year. However, a burning permit is still required from the Special Areas office in Hanna.
