The Special Areas Board has announced a fire advisory for the Hanna area extending throughout Special Areas 2,3 and 4 effective July 4, 2017.

Due to the hot and dry conditions with the higher winds, the Special Areas Board advises extreme caution and that only necessary burning should take place.

ATV engines and vehicle exhaust can cause wildfires, so ensure debris is removed from these areas.

Safe campfires are allowed for the time being in parks, but may be restricted if conditions worsen. The public is asked to ensure all fires are attended to and completely extinguished before leaving unattended.

If the fire hazard continues to increase, further restrictions may be implemented.
