Well Drumheller, looks like we're losing one of the best Constables the Drumheller RCMP has.

Constable Craig Nelson will be transferring up to Innisfail to continue work for the RCMP, but a bit different than his current job.

"With all the work I was doing with the kids here, I really enjoyed that, so the RCMP wanted to put me into a school. The Innisfail school is where I will be going and I'm really excited about that, it will be playing into what I feel are some of my strengths," stated Constable Craig Nelson.

Nelson noted that his wife, Heidi, will be looking to get into the school up there as a teacher.

"We knew what we signed up for when we became part of the RCMP family, like the moving aspect. The RCMP treats us pretty well and Heidi is very excited about it too. We just bought a house, we're excited about the community, but at the same time we're very sad to be leaving," Nelson explained.

Constable Nelson and his family resided in the Drumheller Valley for six years.

"I mean that's a long time for an RCMP officer to stay in one community. They had asked if we were ready to move a couple years ago and we said no, but the time came where it was time for the move and the RCMP made that clear," he expressed.
