Word appears to be getting out about the Badlands Community Facility in Drumheller.

Bookings are up in all areas at the town's newest community facility on Veterans Way.

"We're definitely ahead from last year," explained Interim Marketing and Sales Officer Erica Crocker. "We're up two weddings from 2016, so a total of 14 weddings."

She added they have five bookings for family reunions, anniversaries and fundraisers so far this year, up from four last year.

"The year is still pretty young and we definitely have some more bookings coming in the fall for fundraising type activities as well as family reunions in and around that September area,"elaborated Crocker. "It's really exciting and our events are just getting larger and it's fantastic."

Crocker mentioned they have no dates left for weekend weddings in 2017 and are booked into 2018 and 2019. This has forced the facility to open up booking spots for ceremonies and receptions into 2020.

"We've turned five and just booking like crazy. Definitely the Badlands Community Facility is a destination for a ceremony and a reception and we're very fortunate to have that in out community," beamed Crocker.

This weekend (May 26 and 27) the Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) organization will be hosting their Provincial Recognition Days at the Badlands Community Facility, where approximately 625 people have registered.
