A major attraction in the valley will be getting a new roof starting this summer.
Phase one of the East Coulee School Museum roof renovation project will be getting underway soon.
"Phase one starts with the back half of the museum which, coincidentally, is the new half but is the half which needs the most work on it," said interim supervisor of the Museum, Pam Hodder.
She added the architects and the Alberta Heritage Association will be holding their first meeting about the project on Monday to start planning the roof overhaul. The project is expected to last throughout the summer.
"None of it (the museum) is looking to be closed off right now," stated Hodder. "Basically it's just getting it all on top of the museum, so everything inside is still ready and open."
Hodder says funding for the roof overhaul is thanks to Springfest, gala fundraisers, visitors and government grants. They now have enough money for the first phase but they will be continuing fundraising efforts for phase two of the roof.
