"Enterprise and Innovation is a program in DVSS where the students are able to partake in business ventures and participate in group projects that will eventually benefit the community as a whole," explained student Karyna Ainscough.
A total of eight students are in this year's class, including Teaghan Coultes, who says the class is a lot of fun.
"It's basically new ideas coming to life. We definitely get hands on experience, we get to start our small businesses later on in the semester," she said.
Their most recent project involves the class organizing a postcard mail out campaign that will target 5,000 Drumheller homes. Local businesses can purchase various sizes of ads on the postcard to advertise themselves and their promotions.
"We would really like for the community to support us for the emerging, young entrepreneurs within our school and our class, specifically," smiled student Laressa Ngoeun.
"The profit that will be generated through this campaign will then support our class business projects that will be taking place later this semester," outlined Ngouen's classmate, Jessica Fernando.
Businesses can email [email protected] or call DVSS at 403-823-5171 to get set up on the postcard.
