Thursday, November 2 was pay day at Drumheller Valley Secondary School and it was the 2018 Grad Committee that was handing out the money.
"We gave $500 to Kidsport, $500 to the Salvation Army and we gave $700 to DVSS regarding three scholarships presented to three students for the 2018 grad class and taking one kid to camp," outlined committee member Mikaela Koustrup.
"Every year there's always some money left over for the next year's grad class, so it helps them out a little bit," explained Karyna Ainscough.

Captain Shane Hillier was on hand at the school to accept a cheque on behalf of the Salvation Army, while DVSS Principal Curtis Lapierre accepted a cheque on behalf of the school for the camp pass and scholarships.
Now that the books have been balanced, 2018 Grad Committee member Eden Hilchey said it's time to get down to planning next year's event.
"So far, we're just getting the little things sorted out," she told 99.5 Drum FM. "We've got our first grad meeting coming up."
