Only a few short days after the previous Canadian Tire owners left for Ontario, Chad Murray was already hard at work at his new job.
Murray had previously trained at the Drumheller store, along with other stores across Canada. Although he's new to town, he isn't new to the area.
"We applied to be Canadian Tire dealers and, like I said, we're from Calgary. We were fortunate enough to be awarded the Drumheller store, so we're here to run that business and be a big part of the community. We're extremely excited about it."
What's the most exciting thing about moving to Drumheller?
"For my wife and I, and for my family, one of the most exciting things about getting a Canadian Tire dealership is getting to be a part of the community. Our hope is that we can integrate ourselves quickly into the community and figure out where we can make the biggest impacts."
Murray explained that his son was pretty happy about the move too, but for a different reason.
"We have a five year old son and he has been doing nothing but pretend to be a dinosaur and read dinosaur books. He is definitely embracing the change, so we're already looked into how we can go and spend some time at the Royal Tyrrell and really embrace the dinosaur craze that's here."
Although this is Murray's first store, he's no stranger to Canadian Tire, having grown up with a dad who had his own store.
