The Drumheller Valley is going to be home for Vincent Jakl the next few months.

The grade 12 student from Prague, Czech Republic is part of the Rotary Exchange program.

"I'm happy to be in Alberta because of it's beautiful nature. Drumheller is like a small city, but as I have already seen there is a lot of things to do here. I am excited to explore Drumheller and the other places in Canada," said Jakl.

Jakl will be staying with the Kakuk family who volunteered for the job and are a part of the Drumheller Rotary Club.

He will be starting school at Drumheller Valley Secondary School on September 4 and has already signed up to become a Drumheller Titan.

"Hopefully it will be good. I haven't tried football before so I hope I will enjoy it," continues Jakl.

Jakl arrived in the valley three days ago and is just settling into the small town life style.

"It is different from back home because I live in a flat, so to live in a house is a really big difference for me," explained Jakl.

He will be here for 10 months, exploring the rest of the province as well as Drumheller.

Jakl also said he is excited to learn Canadian social studies, math and computer studies.
