The Drumheller and area residents have been handing out helping hands and the Drumheller Legion are looking for some assistance.
From November 12 until November 26, the Legion will be holding a Silent Auction to help raise funds for a new chair lift inside the building.
"Closing at 6:00 p.m. on the 26. We have over 50 items that have been donated by local businesses. Al Price, one of our comrades here, went around to over 200 businesses and got extremely exceptional support from Drumheller and area," stated Karel Stojan, President of the Legion Branch #22 in Drumheller.
The current chair lift that is in the Legion's entrance is broken and outdated, which is no use to the members who need some extra assistance.
"It's a new personal lift on our front entrance. There's about 10 or 12 steps going up and mobility issues are with some of our members. To accommodate that, we have to put in a new chair lift," explained Stojan.
So, is the Drumheller Legion still accepting donations for the Silent Auction?
"We still are ongoing with Silent Auction items if anybody has anything they'd like to donate. We're accepting cash donations as well or gift certificates," added Stojan.
