The Medium Security Unit at the Drumheller Institution is under lockdown again.
An inmate assault on Wednesday evening, January 17 prompted officials to lock the inmates into their cells while staff conduct a search for evidence.
Inmates are confined to their cells until it's determined that everything is safe and secure again. Visits have been suspended until the search is completed. 
The injured inmate did not require medical treatment at an outside hospital. No penetentiary staff members were hurt.
The Correctional Service of Canada says it will continue to review the circumstances surrounding this incident and take the appropriate measures aimed at preventing this type of incident happening again.
