The Town of Drumheller management team is back to full strength, or soon will be.
Armia Mikhaiel has been hired to be the town's new Director of Infrastructure Services.
"Mr. Mikhaiel is originally from Egypt and he worked in municipal infrastructure projects there, and he's been in Canada for about ten years working in Thompson, Manitoba and Regina," related Julia Fielding, the town's Communications Officer. "He's been doing lots of projects on waste water management, infrastructure, roadworks and so forth."
Mikhaiel currently works with the City of Regina on their water and waste water distribution.
"Our waste water is a huge project that we look after and tap water and everything, it's a huge part of life in Drumheller," stated Fielding. "We provide water around the region, so it forms a very important part of his job."
"We did a number of interviews via Skype, across Canada, and we had two people who we met face to face and Armia was the successful candidate."
Mikhaiel replaces former Infrastructure Director Darryl Drohomerski, who took over the CAO's office last October.
He's expected to begin his new job on January 15.
