"Win or lose, it's all a learning opportunity..."

The A.M.R Dance Team Drumheller had a great season for the 2017-18 year.

The dance team in Drumheller participated in four competitions this year and Coach, Alison Rutz is very proud of her team.

"It was an amazing season, I think our best one yet," said Rutz. "We totally succeeded by working together and we are coming to celebrate our year end this weekend, Friday and Saturday, at the Kaleidoscope(theatre)."

A big highlight for Rutz and her team comes from Red Deer's central dance competition.

"Red Deer is really special to me, it's a really beautiful theatre. I actually used to compete there back in my day," explained Rutz. "We had a couple of really special awards that we won. One was for my senior jazz group and we received the Adjudicators Choice Award and then for our large group routine, we got an X-Factor Award."AMR DANCE 1(Left) Coach Alsion Rutz

At the Catch A Rising Star Festival that took place in Drumheller, seven out of nine A.M.R Dance Teams' dominated their competition.  With 25 competitive dance members, Rutz says, the dance team has some of their best performances in Drumheller.

"Win or lose, it's all a learning opportunity and any chance for my kids to dance, I'm happy," exclaimed Rutz. "We've had the kind of success we've had this year from working together and I'm really proud and happy with everybody this year."

Registration for the 2018-19 season opens in June. For furhter announcments follow the link to the A.M.R Dance Team's Facebook page.
