It was a succesful evening for the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce at the Alberta Chambers of Commerce Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Policy Session in Grand Prairie on May 26th. The Drumheller Chamber took home the 2017 Chamber of the Year Award for chambers with a membership of 151- 350.
Chamber staff members Marley Henneigh and Heather Bitz were in Grand Prairie to accept the award.
"We were very pleased," said Bitz, the chamber's executive director. "We had won the award five years ago, when we hosted the 75th Annual Chambers of Alberta AGM and Policy Session here in Drumheller. It was nice to be recognized again."
The award was based on an application submitted by the Drumheller Chamber of Commerce noting the efforts and accomplishments of local businesses such as advocating for a shop local component in the Town's Purchasing Policy, the Lunch and Learn program and the mobile Visitor Information Center at the Royal Tyrell Muesum.
"It is a great honour to be recognized amongst our fellow Chambers of Commerce for our efforts in the business community and we thank all of our Board of Directors, staff and members that contributed to our success over the past year." summed up Bitz.
