The hard working people at our local recycling hub in the valley received some long awaited recognition.
The Drumheller Bottle Depot won an Applaud a Depot award.
Member Services Coordinator for the Alberta Bottle Depot Association, Laura Nelson explained.
"Customers around the province will leave positive feedback for their depot. Out of those comments we draw one every two months and Drumheller Bottle Depot was selected, and so we wanted to come out and celebrate them."
The celebration included a pizza lunch, games, and free swag from the Alberta Bottle Container Recycling Corporation
Many came out to celebrate including council members Tom Zariski and Kristyne De Mott as well as our local MP of Battle River Crowfoot, Kevin Sorenson.
"Anytime we recognize anyone for accomplishments that's good; and to add to that, Drumheller is very good at recognizing that. They realize they want good service and friendly people," said Sorenson.
The bottle depot does a lot with the community, providing a bin for those who do not want to wait in line, and donating the profits to local charities.
"They are some of the hardest working I know in the community, they never stop and they are always willing to do something for someone that comes to the bottle depot. It takes a lot to work at a bottle depot and I don't know if everyone could do it," praised Senior Manager of Finance for the Drumheller Bottle Depot, Karyn Trory.
